After 35 years at the helm of Structures Teesside (Cordell) Ltd, a well known and respected local steelwork design, fabrication and construction company, Alan Henderson and Brian Wildon are passing on the baton through the formation of Structures Teesside (Cordell) Ltd to David Rush, managing director.

With the total 6,000 square metre structural fabrication capacity, Cordell will be a pre-eminent regional structural solution provider."

In-house Engineering Facilities

The companies headquarters are based in central Middlesbrough and constitute substantial modern office premises to cater for all departmental functions, to allow full engineering control of projects, i.e. estimating, purchasing, contract management, drawing office facilities, quality control and assurance, works supervision and inspection offices.

Site Services
From the early introduction of Structures (Teesside) Ltd back in 1960, the site services support team was formed and strengthened to its current capabilities. This includes, permanent site managers, site supervisors and a base core team of operatives, which can be substantially increased and mobilised within a short period of time.
The company is conversant and adheres to special site conditions and payment and is knowledgeable towards Health and Safety.

The Cordell Influence

Cordell Group will be rolling out its health and safety and quality management systems within Structures Teesside in order for them to gain the same standards and accreditation's as the rest of the Cordell Group, including eventually even IS09001; 2000. Despite Structures Teesside being a separate business entity, Cordell Group will watch over and provide any assistance where required. Cordell will provide head office support as well as being able to work together in projects offering a fully comprehensive engineering, construction and design 'total discipline' service to all of its clients.

* 6,000 square metre of manufacturing area, 3 No bays each with 20 Tonne lifting capacity. 8 electric overhead cranes in total
* Substantial sawing facilities (5 in total) capable of cutting large steel sections, catering for largest section rolled by B.S.C
* Fleet or radial arm drills (lay out to cover up to 20 metre long sections) 6 = Radial Arm Drills
* Comprehensive preparation area - allowing for drilling / punching / cutting etc
* Up to 20 No MAG/MIG Welding sets, sub-arc welding facilities and in-house transport
* Up to 20 MMA welding sets
